Authors Note: This is my cause and effect piece for the book The Last Song. This shows what things happened in the book The Last Song and how they effected the things that went on throughout the story.
The main conflict in the book “The Last Song” is Ronnie has to spend the summer with her father that she hasn’t talked to for three years. While she is there she has to deal with all the emotions for Will, her new love throughout the summer. As she is focused on Will and the fact that they are going to completely different collages she finds out her father has stomach cancer only has so long to live. Ronnie finds it hard to forgive her father after her parents divorce and blames him for the separation.

The resolution of this book is after Ronnie realizes there
is nothing else she can do to help her father’s fate, she finds playing the piano
helps her always have a connection with her father, and forgive him and get
over all the hate. This made her father happy while helping him hang on to life
a little longer. Ronnie is going to Julliard and Will changes schools to be
with her. She realizes Will loves her for who she is and doesn’t try to change
her.
