Legally Blonde

In Greek mythology, the goddess Helen was the most beautiful and most desirable woman. All the God’s wanted her to be theirs. She was the main reason for the Trojan war. Helen is a lot like Warner Huntington from the movie “Legally Blonde”. He thinks he is to good for his girlfriend Elle Woods, he breaks up with her and goes off to Harvard law school. He thinks she is dumb and doesn’t deserve to be with him. Like him Helen knew all the guy wanted her and her and a few other Greek Goddesses had a God choose who was the most beautiful.

In the Trojan war Helen was being fought over by Menelaus her husband and king of Sparta and the Trojan prince, Paris. They actually had a war over her, where as in the movie they just secretly fought over him knowing they both wanted him for themselves. Also in the movie Warner wanted to be with someone more serious and that had something going for them. But when Elle made it into Harvard Law school just like him he realized that he still wanted her because she was confident. But by then she realized she was better off without him. Yet in the Trojan war the two God’s kept fighting over Helen.

Imperfections Are Perfection

You fall asleep at night unsatisfied with the way you look, constantly waking up through the night thinking about the next meal you have to push through until you can get away to throw it up. You want to sleep but you know that you will lose more calories by being awake and moving. You lay there thinking of the meals you have hid but not yet disposed of. Going through the day with your tummy rumbling and all you can think about is food, but you never give in. You will do anything until you see yourself the way you want to. you exercise until you are dizzy because you are so exhausted, but you know you can’t stop.

The people with eating disorders starve themselves in order to make themselves feel skinnier. This is a average day for a person that has a eating disorder, to them no matter how skinny they are they still want to be skinnier and skinnier until there is no more weight to lose. After forcing your body to lose that much weight you become much weaker, it takes a lot of energy to just get into the shower and stand there, you just feel weak. Whenever you see yourself you stare in disgust, and disappointment that you aren’t skinny enough. Just wanting to be the “skinny girl” a lot of the times means starving yourself. So many people put themselves through this torture every day.

According to studies on a website found at the bottom of this essay, half of a million teens struggle with eating disorders. A eating disorder is not just a disorder, it is a illness. It is very serious and can be life threatening. It can mess up a lot of things inside and outside of your body. People might think they are just losing weight, but they are losing a lot more. Disorders like anorexia can lead to ministerial stop, muscle and bone loss, and lose of hair. Not everything that happens to your body is on the outside. It mainly causes stress on the heart, higher risk of heart attacks and sometimes even death.

Most people don’t understand how serious these disorders can get. It is stuck in peoples head that you need to be skinny to be happy. What many people with eating disorders don’t get that you don’t need to be skinny to be pretty to others. People with eating disorders don’t listen to the positive things they hear, only the negative comments. Most of the negativity comes from themselves, when they look in the mirror they don’t see what is really there. They see someone that can be skinnier, or lose some weight in certain areas. These people never stop finding more things that they want to change about themselves when it is already perfect.

You don’t need to change anything about yourself for anyone. You’re your own person, no one is perfect In any way. Everyone has flaws and things they would like to change about yourself . Some just go to more drastic measures to do so. The best thing you can do for yourself is to be happy with yourself and your appearance. As Jonathan Huie put it “Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections”.

The Battles

There was a war between the Trojans and the Greek army, the war started because the Trojans leader Odysseus stole a pretty girl from the Greek’s so that started a war between them. After hundreds of men died the Greeks surrendered and they left a big wooden horse fir the Trojans as a present. It was sneaky because the Greeks didn’t actually leave. They were on a island spying on the Trojans.

Not this exact same thing could happen now and days, a lot of people fight over a boy or girl but they can’t start a war over something like this. It can happen almost everywhere you go. In school I’m sure it happens a lot. In a lot of work places it might happen but not as often because most people date people out of their work place. In books this happens a lot like in The Notebook, and Safe Haven, and Dear John all three by Nicholas Sparks. This happens a lot in reality TV shows and in movies. But the difference between when this happens in movies and in real life is that in the movies and books they almost always end up with the right person, but in real life they might not always choose the right people so be with.

Friends For Life

Bruno was a young boy with a great life, never had a thing to worry about. In the book “The Boy In The Striped Pajamas” by John Boyne, Bruno always had a perfect world in mind, but one day Bruno got the
news that him and his mother, father, and older sister had to move away from their nice home. They had to move to a smaller home where he would have no one to play with and nothing to do. Bruno always kept out of trouble, but he always enjoyed exploring. He wanted to explore his new home. Not knowing what he would find, he made a great discovery.

In the beginning Bruno was very upset that he had to leave his best friends behind. Everything he had ever known, just left there to be forgotten about. That’s how Bruno saw it anyway. He had no clue what the new place would be like. He also had no clue why they had to leave in the first place, but throughout the book he gets more used to the new house, and now he has his new friend, Shmule.

As one day he was exploring through the woods behind his new house, he saw a little boy named Shmule sitting on the other side of a fence. It turned out to be a boy just like him, but lived a very different life. While Bruno had a great life, the other little boy was stuck in a concentration camp for Jewish people. Bruno didn’t understand what they meant, he just knew he found a friend.

Bruno would sit and look out his window and see a field with people working in their pajamas that all matched, they were striped. He knew that his new friend also wore those clothes, but he didn’t know why, and didn’t want to ask his new friend. He didn’t understand why everyone was over there, or  why they all had matching outfits. When Bruno asked his father, who was a German soldier about the people in their pajamas, his father just explained that they weren’t people at all, they were Jew’s. Bruno didn’t understand what his father meant by “not people” because he could very clearly see that they were in fact people.

In the end of the book Bruno and Shmule were the best of friends, but Bruno realized it was a different friendship than he had ever had before. It was the best one he had ever had. The three boys who were once his best friends, he now doesn’t even remember their names. When he was with Shmule, he didn’t get to play games or anything. They both just sat there on either side of the fence and talked. That made the friendship stronger because they got to know each other.

Bruno learned a lot of different things throughout the book. There’s friendship, loyalty, determination, and discrimination towards people that are different. When everyone else was mean to the Jewish people, Bruno was nice to all of them because he didn’t see anything they did wrong. He thought of them as people just like everyone else. He didn’t see them any different from himself, they are just regular people with their own beliefs. Bruno saw this and didn’t judge the Jewish people at all. Instead he made one his best friend. Bruno was a very loyal friend and tried to help Shmule. Their friendship never ended, but both of their lives did.

Ribbons

The grandmothers culture in China is very different from ours in America. They had different beliefs, they believed that by making their feet smaller by binding them would make the woman more beautiful and desirable. They would have to put up with this pain for their whole life just so other people would find them beautiful. In our culture we have other ways people change their appearance, but not something that big. We have things that can change your face and everything about your body by getting surgeries. Some girls don't feel that they are skinny enough, so in their mind in order to be pretty they had to be as skinny as possible. Even when they are almost just skin and bones they still starve themselves so they will feel better about themselves.

No matter what it is a bad thing because we shouldn’t have to change things about ourselves to make other people or ourselves think we are better than we are. We should be comfortable in our own body, not dislike it so much you feel the need to fix or change it. We all have insecurities but we need to accept ourselves for who we are. Everyone is beautiful, not everyone can see it in themselves but it’s always there. The significance of the title “Ribbons” reflects over the whole story on how for one person it relates to something they love in their life, but for someone else it relates to a tragedy in their life that they can’t let go of because it will stay with them forever.

Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover

In this story the mother of Johnny, was making assumptions about her sons friend Boyd that he brought over for lunch. Mrs.Wilson was making these assumptions based on the color of his skin. Because Boyd was black she thought that he was very poor and needed as much of anything that she could offer him. When she would offer him things he was confused but didn't accept them because he didn't need them. She thought he had a life that was missing things, but he knew what he had. It wasn't any different than her life.

I think Shirley Jackson was trying to show how people act when people different from yourself don’t meet your expectation. In Colorado springs there are different parts and it is kind of separated. There are parts with neighborhoods and towns that aren't very nice and there are a lot of people of different races that live there, then there are other places where there are neighborhoods with huge houses that nowhere near there, there is old looking houses that aren't as nice. This kind of relates to this because people would assume rich people would live in the really nice place and people with not that much money would live anywhere else.  This story shows you that no matter what color someone’s skin is or where they live you can’t make assumptions about their life and how they live just by what they look like or where they are from.

Afterglow

                                                                     Afterglow

I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one,
I’d like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun of happy memories
that I leave behind when day is done.

Authors Note: I am doing a text analysis on the poem “Afterglow” by “Helen Lowrie Marshall”. I will be comparing it to the movie “My Sisters Keeper”.

In the first two lines of this poem already sets the scene of wanting people who care about you to carry all the good memories that they had with you, and not think about the bad ones. Whenever someone leaves in any sort of way you try to remember them by good things. By these lines you don’t know whether the good memories with them will continue or whether they are stopping for good, either way they just want the reader to remember the good times they spent with one another to make them happy.

Later on in the poem it is saying that they want to leave behind good thoughts and leave peacefully when their life is done. No matter what happened they want people to think of them and be happy that they had this person in their lives, even if it was only meant. They don’t want people to be sad that they are gone, they want them to be happy that they were once there. They don’t want to be thought of as gone they want the memories of them keep them alive.

Like in the Movie “My Sisters Keeper” Anna, the younger sister of Kate who has cancer. And through her cancer, Anna was always there through everything and they would have fun all the time even though she was sick. Anna was Kate’s donor, so if Kate needed something they would take it from Anna’s body and put it in Kate’s. This poem relates to this movie because in the end Kate is ready to die and she is okay with it. Her mother wants to keep fighting the cancer though. Kate has to convince her mother to let her go. So like how the poem says they don’t want the people they love to be sad about them leaving, Kate wants her mom to set her free.

This poem tells you to be happy even when they are gone, but obviously no one is going to be happy, they will always be sad. No one wants to see someone they love to leave forever, but sometimes it’s better to let go of them and hold on to the memories with them. They always want them to be there with them through everything. It might hurt at the thought of them being gone, but no matter what their memories will live on forever.

Unwanted

"He's lonely. I'm not lonely. I have a wife waiting in bed for me." Was a important quote, because the young waiter was just not caring about the old man and his problems and just focused on his and his life, not thinking about how the old man is feeling or that there might be something going on in his life that he as a young person might not know much about his situation or what he has been through in his life.  "Last week he tried to commit suicide," this is another important quote because this kind of explains why the old man is always at the bar. He is there to get away from his life, he clearly isn’t happy with it so he just drinks so he can feel free of worries and pain. "You should have killed yourself last week," this quote is rude and sad, the young waiter is suggesting that along with the old mad he doesn’t think the old man’s life is worth living either. Even if the old man didn’t know that he said that, if he did he would feel even more worthless and unwanted and unloved by even more people.

Between the video remake of the story, I thought that the video made more sense and really made the story look good, it had very good reenactments of the sense in the story. The music in the beginning didn’t really fit with what was going on, but in the end it fit perfectly because it was kind of a sad feeling and it just set the mood of the whole moral of the story. How they described the setting in the story fit very well in the video, like the well lit place and how nice it was in the diner and then the unclean dark bar in the end.

Nightmares

Authors Note: I wrote a essay on the book Blue is for Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz, I talked about how the two main characters in this book relate to people in or society and where they would fit in

Imagine you are engulfed into the dark night, the sky is clear, the light from the moon shines on you like a spotlight. The trees closing in all around you, sharp sticks scratching at your sides. You hear a familiar scream from your best friend and try to follow where it is coming from, but it seems to be coming from everywhere you turn. The ground, wet and squishy, gets harder to run;  everywhere you go the screams fade further away. You hear footsteps right behind you, but there is no one in sight. They whisper your name, you turn around and see a figure and right then you wake up; everything is fine. You’re in bed, safe. In our society when something like this happens it is just a bad dream but for Stacy, her nightmares reflect on a event that will happen in her life.

This was a regular nightmare that was reoccurring for Stacy in the book Blue is for Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz. To start off Stacy was average, she wasn’t the most pretty or the most popular girl, but something different about her was her dreams and how real they were, especially when things start to happen in her life that she recognizes from her dreams. Drea, Stacy’s best friend acted as a normal teenage girl, she was obsessed with one boy, she was very pretty, and always tries to look her best. They have a good friendship, like anyone else’s in our society. They help each other through problems and always trust each other. Then something happens that turns their normal days into a sketchy game.

The concept of this story is pretty unusual, they are both at a boarding school and Drea starts getting weird phone calls that were restricted and they other things started happening that no one had a answer to. They refused to talk to the police about it so they kept it to themselves. Everyone was a suspect, but at the same time they thought they were innocent. If this type of thing happened in our society people would call the police right away and report the problem and get it fixed. Not try to handle this kind of problem by yourself.

If Stacy was in our society she would be kind of a outcast because she did spells and believed in supernatural things like that. On the other hand Drea would be a normal girl, pretty and funny. A regular high school girl. In both cases there are people like them in the real world. There are all kinds of people that are just like them. Like Stacy, she isn’t weird. She just has a different point of view on things in the world and has different ways of solving or figuring out problems. Drea just goes along with it because she trusts Stacy to help her.

There are people just like them in our lives, they fit in their own parts in society. They might not have the same situations happen to them, but there are people who believe in the same things they do. They are different in their own way but they would still fit in society with the rest of people. People in our society might react to the things they went through differently but other things the same.

The Ransom of Red Chief

In the story The Ransom of Red Chief  I thought the most important quote was "bring Johnny home and pay me two hundred and fifty dollars in cash". This is what the letter said from the father when they said in order for the father to get his son back he had to pay them two thousand dollars. After realizing that the boy was irritating and they couldn't put up with him anymore they decided to go along with the fathers request and take him back home and pay his father to get the boy off their hands.

Dreams

1.    What types of figurative language are being used in the text (metaphor, personification, rhyme, rhythm...etc)?
The author used metaphor’s, personification, rhythm, and repetition.

2.    Why does the author use this type of imagery/language (purpose)?
The purpose was to say without dreams and goals you can’t go anywhere in life and your life with be empty because you won’t have any plans for what you want.

3.    What impact does this type of imagery/language have on
1.    the overall tone the author is trying to convey
It allows you to have a image of what your life would be life without dreams.

3.    the overall mood the reader feels from this language
The mood it is sharing is giving hope and also kind of sad, it shows people that you need hopes and dreams for in your life and more importantly with those dreams you need to go and make them come true.

4.    the way the scenes/characters are developed/envisioned
giving an image of life being like a bird with a broken wing allows you to see that without having dreams to chase you can’t go anywhere in life.

Moments That Last Forever

Authors Note: This is a essay describing remembering someone and all the memories you had coming back to you just by looking at them one last time. It also tells how you never know what life has planned for you and when everything can just end.

My chest tightened, my throat growing thick, my knees weaken, my vision blurred with the tears gathering in my eyes waiting to fall down my cheeks in streams. I stood there looking down at the person who was once always there for me, the person who would do anything for me just to keep me safe. He lays there motionless, as I looked at his face, it just wasn't the same. It didn't look like him. His skin was as white as winter snow, he looked empty. A blank expression across his face. His hands lay crossed over his chest that no longer was moving. I took one last look at him and had a million feelings, a thousand thoughts, hundreds of memories, that all in that moment came rushing to me; I couldn't help but to smile, as a warm tear ran down my cheek. I thought of all the words I left unspoken and all the things I would tell him if  I got the chance.

Sunny summer days seem to hurt the most, I wear the pain like a heavy coat. I can still feel him everywhere I go. I see his smile, I see his face, I hear him laughing. I still can't believe he's gone even though its been so long. He died so young, his life was like a story that had just begun. That one night tore all the pages away. If you never had been in that car, I wonder where you'd be today. Would you see the world? Would you chase your dreams? Would you settle down with a family of your own? What would you name your babies? The only thing that gives me hope, is that I'll see you again someday.

Until that day, I am left with just the memories of him. I could just picture him skateboarding down the street with the warm summer wind blowing back his hair that was as fiery as a sunset, I could hear his laugh in the sea of sadness that surrounds me, he smiles at me and waves. Everything slowed down as if it was in slow motion. I relived is as it was happening right before me. That's how I would remember him, I captured that memory. At that moment I felt like that’s how he would remain, happy with no worries, finally being set free.

Imagine on a warm summer night, you and some friends are driving around, the sun will be coming out soon and it will be a new day, you never would think that you wouldn't be here to see the morning come. You are in the passenger seat, all of you are laughing and shouting, but all sounds are muffled by the music that is cranked as loud as it goes. The car moves fast as wind along the curvy roads. The car turns one corner and all of the sudden the car is moving towards an electrical pole so fast no one even knows what is going on. It hits your side of the car. You fly into the side of the window. In that one moment you see your whole life flash before your eyes, flashbacks of yourself as a little kid running around without any cares and every moment up to that last second of your life, that last second you didn't think would be your last.

Life never goes in the neat order we desire. We always plan for the future and think what it will be like when we are older and all the things you have going for you in life. What people should really do is just live in the moment like you don't have any cares in the world, because you never know when it could be your last day. In the blink of an eye, it can all be over without your control. Everyone wants a happy ending, but I've learned the hard way. Some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end... You never know what is going to happen, then again life is about not knowing. It's about taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.

Forever and Always

Authors Note: This is a essay for the writing rubric on the book "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. I'll tell you about how difficult life can be.

Imagine how it would feel having everything in life being perfect because on person. One person can change your life forever. That one person that you always want to be with, that made everything worthwhile and nothing could change how you feel about them. This is how a young couple Noah and Allie felt in the book " The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. Amongst all the fun they had together and how they felt about each other, one thing got in the way of their love. Allie's mother.

She didn't approve of Noah and her daughter being together because their lives were too different. Allie's family was very rich and successful  on the other hand Noah's family was just him and his father. They weren't rich. In fact they were poor, but they were happy. These differences forced them to be apart, but in the end they find their way back to each other, forever and always.

The ends of books are always different, they might have similar concepts but the whole story around it is what makes the whole things completely different. Some endings come sooner than others, but some last forever. All the reasons for endings are different from one another. Weather it happy, or sad they are always there.

This happens in different ways like in another novel also by Nicholas Sparks,"Remember Me". It is also about a young boy and girl and her father doesn't really approve of their relationship, but that doesn't stop them from being with the person that they love. This concept of forbidden love also is found in "A Walk to Remember" also by Nicholas Sparks. The young couple of a reckless boy and a priests daughter somehow fall in love and her father disprove but they stay together any way.

This book shows you no matter how many obstacles life has for you there is always a bright happy finish. Sometimes it is rough but you know what they say. You have to let things go, and if it comes back is comes back it was always yours, if it doesn't i never was. There might be hard choices you will have to make but if you follow what your heart says it will always lead you where you need to be. For the better or for the worst there can always be something good or a life lesson comes out of it. Life will always be difficult; there may be bumps in the road, but in the end it turns out good, or maybe even better than you dreamed.

Here Comes goodbye

As I walk into the doors I see waiting chairs and nurses everywhere, I walk through the long hallways, then I come to the room. As I turn to walk in the room I hear the faint beeping of the heart monitor. The first thing I see is my grandpa, not only my grandpa but him with tubes everywhere, the most noticeable one is the large one that was in his mouth. It was worse then I thought it was going to be. He couldn't breath on his own anymore. The first thing I thought of was, here comes goodbye.

He was slowly slipping away, and all I could think about was how we would never laugh together, or ride around in his big tractor together. I could just picture us sitting on a horse together when I was little, and I wouldn't have anything to hold onto so with my little fingers I would squeeze onto his arms and trust that he wouldn't let me fall. Whenever I did, he was always there to catch me...no matter what he was always there to save me.

I have said goodbye to Grandpa. I said those words, because it seemed like not saying them would be my attempt to deny the reality, the reality that he was leaving. I didn't want to say goodbye, because goodbye means going away, but this time is was for good. It was hard to find the right words, because no words could ease the pain. No words could hide the sorrow of saying goodbye. Some goodbyes can be good because it is just for a little while, but this one was forever.

Wanted you More

Authors Note: This tells the perspective from the song "Wanted You More" by Lady Antebellum the boy and the girl singing about what they thought went wrong in their relationship.

Some people get that feeling that they want to be with someone more than the other person wants to be with them. That feeling is never a good feeling, it makes you feel unwanted and not important. The song “Wanted you More” by Lady Antebellum is describing that two people were convinced that they wanted the other person more than the other person wanted them. And they both thought that the other person did things wrong and didn't really care about the relationship.

From the boys point of view in the song is saying that he didn't know why she stopped trying. He waited to hear from her and when he didn't he assumed that she didn't care, so he gave up. In a lot of relationships that is how it ends, not knowing at all what went wrong and it comes out of nowhere. In the girls point of view she knew why she was done, she realized that from the little things that he did were signs that made her realize that he didn't have enough room in his life for her and didn't follow through on his promises.

Since the perspective is coming from both the girl and the boy it would be up to the person that was listening to the song. Everyone might interpret it in their own way. they might relate it to their own life or see it from a completely different view of the actual meaning of the song.

They are saying that even through all of the plans they had for their future together the little things that they both didn't see coming made them separate. To get over all of it they both told themselves that they thought they needed. They told themselves that they didn't care and they didn't need one another. They both knew what went wrong in their own ways and were okay with the fact that they wanted each other more and didn't need the other one to be happy. Neither of them knew what they themselves did wrong but they both felt the same way and knew it wasn't working between them.

Music

Authors Note: This tells you how music affects you in different ways and how it relates to different people in different ways.

The world moving silently around you, with your headphones in. You are in your own little world that only holds your thoughts and no distractions. Whatever is on your mind, music can relate to it. Sometimes the lyrics can make you understand how you feel when you don’t know how to put it into words. When your emotions are all mixed up you can find music that relates to your life. It can put it all in better perspective for you. When you play your favorite song it takes away all the worries and lifts your mood.

Music isn't just to listen to or make you feel better, it is actually good for your brain. It  relaxes you more and keeps you focused. It helps train your brains to memorize different notes and words. By listening to music it can help your memory by being able to contain information. According to scientists research on different brain diseases, Alzheimer’s patients have been shown to benefit mentally from listening to music. Patients with Parkinson’s also benefit from listening to music. Some have been able to walk better while listening to music

Music is personal; we like songs that have meaning to us or ones that are helpful to us. We all have different tastes in music, which is one of the things that makes everyone different. It might just be a song to someone, but for you it could explain your past or what is going on with you in the moment. Listening to music creates a clear perspective on life. It can make you feel a certain way or help you retain a certain memory. Whether it's love, suffering, or teaching you to believe in yourself; it impacts your mood. This can make you want to achieve a goal or inspire you to do something you have never done before.

Listening to music is like reading a good book, only you are just listening to the words. At the same time they are very different. Books tell  you someone else's story, but music can tell you your own.. Everyone interprets songs in their own way, which is what makes music so amazing. Some music teaches us lessons, and some songs tell us to let go of your past and live in the present. Many show you that no matter how dirty your past is, your future is still spotless and you can change who you are or what type of person you want to become. Songs may retell your story or show you a new one.

The important thing about music is that it is a escape, an escape to the perfect place that lets you just think. You don't have to put up with what anyone is saying or doing; you can just clear your mind. It doesn't matter that is going on in your life music can make it all go away for awhile and let you be happy. Music is something everyone enjoys, it speaks to everyone in different ways. It puts you in a different state of mind, music allows you realize what is important in your life, and what never was.

Hope

Authors note: The book A Child Called "it" has a lot of different themes but I chose power of hope. He gave up but he never lost hope.

The main theme of the book A Child Called “It” is the power of hope. Even though he gave up on the hope of ever getting out, the hope he had was different, he hoped it would all end well. He would hope that once it would just be bad enough that he would die and not have to put up with the excruciating pain he went through every day. It wasn’t just physical pain he went through, it was mental pain also. He wasn’t even thought of as part of the family anymore. He was just someone who they were forced to put up with. So instead of welcoming him into the family his mother would beat him until he couldn’t stand and until the pain didn’t affect him anymore.

Imagine being trapped, trapped in life that is lonely and forgotten by the ones you used to think of as your family. Holding in your tears as your are being beaten or trying not to think about your hunger as you are being starved for days. This shouldn’t be any way that someone has to live their life, some people don’t make it out alive because they have just simply just lost hope of every making it out, but in cases people fight through the pain and finally make it out and are finally free.

In the book A Child Called “It” he wished every day that his mother would stop putting him through the pain everyday so he wouldn’t have to go through the hurt any longer. The only thing that kept him from breaking down in front of his mother was that if he did cry or break down in front of her as she was beating him or screaming at him, was that would give her what she wanted, to see him hut from the unbearable pain she put upon him. It would give her the satisfaction of winning all the “games” she had for him.

All the “games” she had for him were not games anyone would want to play, and there is no way of winning them. Most of the games were some kind of torture. She would make him drink chemicals or sit in the bathroom with the chemicals. His mother would make him sit in the bath tub in freezing cold water for hours without moving at all. You would think after going through this kind of pain that you would just give up and let her hurt you, but he never let the pain get to him. He always tried to stay strong through everything. Eventually he got out of this terrible life and got to be free with the hope of a better life away from all the pain and suffering.
