Promises

Authors Note: I wrote about the conflicts in the book The Notebook by Nickolas Sparks and how they over came the problems they had.

Most of the conflicts were caused by Allie's parents. They didn't think Noah, Allie's boyfriend, was good enough for their daughter, so they tried a lot of things to keep them apart. Allie and her family left town early to keep her and Noah away from each other. Her mother would hide Noah's daily letters from Allie thinking that she would be better off not seeing them. In the end, they couldn't do anything to keep these soul mates apart.

Noah and Allie were very much in love, but nearly lost each other because of what other people thought.  They find the strength to be with each other as soul mates. As they got older Allie slowly gets  Alzheimer’s disease. Noah’s love draws her out and keeps them together. Noah had a stroke at eighty years old, he reads Allie’s final letter again and is reminded of the promise she made when she found out she had Alzheimer’s; she would try every way she could  to overcome the disease and be with him in the end. Noah went to Allie’s room late at night even though most of the time when she sees him she rarely remembers who he is. He only wanted to leave a poem under her pillow, but instead kisses her. This made her to wake up and she recognize Noah, he was glad that he has come back to her. In the end that they die there together, just as Allie promised him.
